'Mob of people' storms, robs California Nordstrom in latest of high-end store robberies
USA Today: Over 80 people allegedly stormed and robbed a Nordstrom in California on Saturday night, according to multiple reports of the incident.
The robbery was over within minutes as thieves armed with crowbars and wearing ski masks allegedly streamed out of the Nordstrom into the dozens of cars lining the block, NBC reported.
The alleged attack took place around 9 p.m. right around Nordstrom's closing time, and the police station began receiving calls around that time, Walnut Creek police Lt. Ryan Hibbs told KPIX 5. One employee was pepper sprayed and two were punched and kicked, NBC reported.
This contributor suggests: Increasing civil unrest is indicative of anarchy that typically follows the breakdown of social order in a society. In our society the breakdown of social order is not at all unrelated to the growing disrespect widely felt for the "establishment" (a term borrowed from the `1960's that refers to the entrenched ruling class.)
When the working class feels oppressed and unjustly exploited and disregarded with indifference, they react in extreme ways. This is a comment on the reality of sociology, not advocacy of civil disorder. "No Justice, No peace", is a mantra that applies to the perceptions widely held in America about the establishment and the arrogance and indifference its own conduct consistently demonstrates.
