Conclusions and Positions
Tentative Conclusions and Positions arising from
Out of the Wild Project research.
In this module we will present project research conclusions and proposed general public policy positions. By "general" we are referring to public policy positions that might be viewed as national or international in scope as opposed to those that might be limited in relevance to a specific municipality, town, or community.
The Out of the Wild Project focuses specifically on attitudes and opinions about the wholesale corruption of the American government and American institutions. Of course, such an inquiry presumes that such corruption exists while exploring opinions about its existence. At the same time, our research has investigated allegations of corruption and related evidence in varying degrees. The proper assessment of attitudes and opinions about corruption necessarily includes, in our view, an inquiry into the legitimacy of those attitudes and opinions, which, in turn, necessitates an inquiry into evidence of actual corruption.
From such an inquiry, we have arrived at our own conclusions and public policy recommendations. While we are at liberty to share our conclusions and public policy recommendations, we are not at liberty to share all of the evidence of corruption we have reviewed. Confidential sources and methods are at stake.
Naturally, we anticipate that not everyone will share the same conclusions about corruption, even where they may be privy to the same evidence. Certainly, not everyone will share the same conclusions where they do not have access to the same evidence. Such are the realities of this social arena. Obviously, you are welcome to take our conclusions and recommendations seriously, or not, on the basis of your own knowledge or suppositions about the subject matter.
We are not a public agency nor are we journalists providing a service for public consumption. We are a private foundation. We are not obliged to make full disclosure of any of our research nor are we obliged to defend any of our conclusions or recommendations with evidence of their appropriateness. You are welcome to form your own opinions and positions on the basis of your own criteria.
