Politac.org Privacy Policy:
This policy is effective as of April 1, 2006.
Politac.org understands that your privacy is important to you. As such, the collection, use and security of information obtained through our Web site is described below.
Information Collected
Politac.org does not collect personal information about individuals except as specifically disclosed at the time of the collection of the information and as allowed and/or required by law. The purpose for which personal information is collected is clearly specified at or prior to collection and is relevant to and used for the purpose for which it is collected.
Information collected through our web site includes:
Electronic information consisting of Internet browser type, browser version, operating system, Internet Protocol address and statistical information about which web pages are visited.
Names, mailing addresses, email addresses and phone numbers may be collected, if voluntarily
provided through the clearly identified forms made available for your use.
Use of Information
Personal information collected is not disclosed or used for purposes other than those specified, except with the consent of the individual, or as authorized by law or regulation. Electronic information collected is used to provide and improve customer service and Web site content and for reporting purposes as required. Information voluntarily provided in customer input forms is used to improve customer service and Web site content, for correspondence if further information is needed, and for reporting purposes as required.
Cookies
Cookies are simple text files stored on a computer, often without a user's knowledge, when visiting certain sites on the Internet. Cookies are used to identify a specific computer. For example, some sites use cookies to greet visitors personally or to generate a list of products a visitor may be interested in. A cookie is a short piece of data. A cookie is not an executable program and cannot do anything to your machine. There are two kinds of cookies, "session cookies" and "persistent cookies." Session cookies are not written to your hard drive and do not contain personal information about you. Persistent cookies continue in operation after the close of the individual Internet session. Shutting down the Internet browser will cause the cookie to be written into a special cookie file on the user's computer so that the next time the user visits the Web site that generated the cookie, the cookie will be sent to the Web site's server again.
Politac.org uses session cookies and persisten cookies to enable electronic transactions, control proper viewing of our site, and record statistical information about visits to our web pages. This information is not saved or compiled in ways that personally identifies you by name, nor saved or used for any other purpose. These records are not retained over time. They are purged periodically from our systems. You can prevent cookies from being sent to your system using the browser options. However, if you do so, or already have your browser set to do so, you may not be able to process transactions electronically or view our site properly. The cookies are not used to collect or store detailed information about you, personally or your activities in general on the internet. Politac.org does not share or disclose any information associated with your use of our site with any other person or entity for any purpose, except as may be required by law or under court order.
Security
Your online security is important to Politac.org. We are committed to keeping your personal information (including your credit card number) secure and confidential. eCommerce transactional information is hosted on a secure Web server whose identity is certified by GeoTrust, an industry leader in Web site trust services. When you logon to our eCommerce transaction processing pages, your voluntarily submitted information
is sent over the Internet from your computer to our Web site using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. SSL encrypts your personal information before it leaves your computer, ensuring that no one else can read it.
Once you have logged on to our secure eCommerce transactional pages, you can check that your transactional session is secure in two ways:
Look for the small padlock icon located in either the lower right- or left-hand corner of your browser window. A closed or locked padlock indicates a secure connection.
Look for the letters "https://" at the beginning of the Web site address. The "s" stands for secure.
From start to finish, all of your eCommerce transactions are performed in a secure environment, so that you don't have to worry about your credit card information being intercepted by others.
